APPLICATIONS Geophysics Geotechnics, water flows in unsaturated soils UNPOLARIZABLE ELECTRODES FOR SELF POTENTIALS MEASUREMENTS - PMS 9000This probe derives directly from the geophysical field. It is new in the AGRONOMICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL research but has been used for 25 years in geophysics with great success. The transfert of this technology allows to use it now in AGRONOMY to study hydric transferts in soils by measuring the self-potentials in these soils. The PMS 9000 is a reliable probe which can last for about 15 years. These great advantages allow you to use this probe in soil without maintenance, for a high number of measurements once installed. Example of experimentation in the field. Electrical potential differences are measured between the standard electrode (80cm) and each other electrodes (30, 50 & 70 cm). ![]() Key AdvantagesNO WATERNO MAINTENANCE 15 YEARS OF LIFETIME TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSDiameter : 32 mm.Length : 180 mm. Weight : 250 g. Value of the polarization on new electrodes : about 0,2mV. Drift : ≈ 0.2 mV per month. Temperature factor : 20 à 30 µV/°C. Internal resistance (value between 2 electrodes) : ≈ 500 Ohm. Maximum pulling weight acceptable on the wire : 15kg. Lifetime : 10 to 15 years.
